Everything described here is done with the panels your Mac already has.

Macalix Guides LLC respects your privacy and keeps its handling of personal information deliberately narrow. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and the rights you hold. It is written in plain language, and we have avoided legal padding wherever the meaning does not suffer for it.

Last updated: 1 January 2026.

Who we are

Macalix Guides LLC is an independent educational publisher registered in Colorado, with its office at 2200 Bryant St, Suite 400, Denver, CO 80211, United States. For questions about this policy or your information, write to [email protected] or to the postal address above.

What this site collects

Reading the guides on this site requires no account, no email address and no payment. In ordinary use, the site sets no tracking cookies and makes no external requests. It keeps one small flag in your browser's local storage so the notice about cookies stays hidden after you dismiss it; that flag contains no personal information and never leaves your browser.

We receive personal information only when you choose to give it to us. In normal business that happens in three situations: when you write to us by email, when you complete an order for the e-book, and when you ask us to do something with your information, such as a refund.

The categories we hold

CategoryExamplesWhy we hold it
IdentifiersName, email addressTo reply and to deliver the e-book
Commercial informationWhat you ordered, whenTo keep an accurate record of the sale
CorrespondenceYour messages to usTo answer and to improve the guides
Payment confirmationConfirmation that a payment clearedTo complete the order and handle refunds

We do not collect sensitive information, we do not build advertising profiles, and we do not track you across other sites.

How we use it

We use your information to reply to you, to deliver the e-book you ordered, to keep a record of the sale, to handle refunds, and to keep the guides accurate when a reader reports a correction. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not write to you about anything other than your own enquiry or order.

What we never do

Your California rights

If you live in California, the CCPA and CPRA give you specific rights. You have the right to know what categories of personal information we hold and why, the right to request a copy of it, the right to ask us to correct it, the right to ask us to delete it, and the right to opt out of any sale or sharing of it — which we do not do in any case. You also have the right not to be treated differently for exercising these rights. To make a request, write to [email protected] or use the dedicated do not sell or share page. We will confirm your request and respond within the time the law allows.

Your European rights

Where European data protection law applies, we act as the controller of the limited information described above. Our lawful basis is the performance of a contract when you order the e-book, and our legitimate interest in answering enquiries when you write to us. You have the right to access your information, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its use, and to receive it in a portable form. Write to [email protected] and we will act on your request.

How long we keep it

We keep order records for as long as we must to satisfy tax and accounting rules in the United States. We keep correspondence for up to two years and then remove it. Local storage flags stay in your browser until you clear them. When information is no longer needed, we delete it.

Children

This site is written for adults and is not directed at children under thirteen. We do not knowingly collect information from a child. If you believe a child has sent us information, write to [email protected] and we will remove it.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will describe it in plain terms rather than leaving you to compare two documents.
