For Macalix Guides LLC, the honest answer is simple: we do not sell or share it, so there is nothing to switch off. We keep this page anyway, because the law expects one and because it gives you a way to put your choice on record.

What selling and sharing mean
Under California law, selling personal information means giving it to another business for money or something valuable in return. Sharing means giving it to another business for cross-context advertising — that is, to show you adverts based on what you do on other sites. Both are widely practised, and both are why the opt-out right exists.
What we do
We do neither. Macalix Guides LLC does not sell personal information, and does not share it for advertising. We do not run adverts, we do not use advertising identifiers, and we do not build profiles of our readers. This site keeps one small flag in your browser's local storage so a notice stays hidden, and that flag never leaves your browser.

Make your choice official
Even though there is nothing to sell or share, you may record your choice with us, and we will keep it on file. Write to [email protected] with the words Do not sell or share in the subject, together with the email address you would like us to note. We will confirm that your choice is recorded and keep it that way. You do not need to be a customer to do this.
Your other rights
The same California law gives you further rights, all of which we will honour. You may ask what categories of personal information we hold and why, request a copy of it, ask us to correct it, and ask us to delete it. You may also use an authorised agent to make a request on your behalf. Write to [email protected] and we will confirm your request and respond within the time the law allows. Exercising any of these rights will never change the service you receive or the price you pay.
Verifying a request
To protect your information, we may ask you to confirm a request from the email address we hold for you. If a request comes from an address we do not recognise, we will ask a question that only the right person could answer, rather than act on it alone. This is for your protection, not to put obstacles in your way.
Children
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under thirteen, and we do not sell or share it in any case. If you believe a child has given us information, write to [email protected] and we will remove it.
